Where is our water?

'I would like a response from the municipality on when our water will be restored permanently and finally'

The residents of upper Kempton Park (mostly above the railway line) have had water cuts for five of the seven days last week – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday night and Sunday.

Residents from the Kempton extension four area were assured in January, at a specially convened meeting, that the continuous water problems that we had experienced the past three years would be resolved by the end of February, although this was delayed due to ordering the incorrect parts?

We seemed to have reached some solution in the later March /April time period.

It would appear this was a “quick fix” in time for the elections and campaigning for votes, because, low and behold, elections have now passed and we sit with no water once more.

As it is our constitutional right to water, I would like a response from the municipality on when our water will be restored permanently and finally.

I, for one, am rather tired of the excuses and the DA councillors passing on the half-baked stories they are fed.

Unfortunately the silence from the ANC councillors, the ruling party, is deafening!

After one of the outages last week caused by a damaged pipe on Long Street, Kempton Express approached the metro for comment on the various outages experienced last week. At the time of going to print, the metro had not replied – Editor
