Elgin Road problem will just continue

Maybe other commuters have got much better suggestions, which would be welcomed

FRUSTRATED COMMUTER from Norkem Park writes:

On regular occasions, I have, like hundreds of other commuters, had to sit in a traffic jam due to a truck being stuck under the bridge near Birchleigh station.

I realise there is signage warning the trucks but it does not stand out. Many years ago they used to have an overhanging board, warning the trucks of the acceptable height, to ensure an easy passage under the bridge.

Can an overhanging board not be used again? This board should be displayed, way in advance, so the truck can take an alternate route if necessary. Presently, once the truck reaches the bridge from the Birchleigh side it has no option but to attempt going through or reverse.

Either way, it causes a major traffic jam. The poor bridge is even starting to look quite haggard. This problem is going to continue unless something done.

Maybe other commuters have got much better suggestions, which would be welcomed.
