A fire that broke out in a shack at Madelakufa 2 VD damaged three structures on September 25.

No lives were lost, but the fire led to significant property loss.

The fire originated in one shack and destroyed it.

Another shack was heavily damaged, with its occupants losing most of their belongings. A third shack suffered minor damage with no significant property loss.

Among the victims were two learners from Boitumelong Secondary School who lost their school-provided laptops in the fire.

The two, a 16-year-old Grade 10 learner and a 19-year-old Grade 11 learner, relied on the devices for their education.
