Despite recently placed signage, Kempton Park’s suburb of Edleen has not been renamed.
Recently residents noticed with dismay that some of the suburb name boards placed in Edleen identified the suburb as Esther Park.
The City of Ekurhuleni has since confirmed that the suburb identification board was placed in error.
“The suburb name was incorrectly labelled.

“The necessary steps will be taken to have the suburb name changed from Esther Park to Edleen,” said CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.
Clr Tracey Lourenco said that there was an error made by council.
“There is no name changes, an error was just made,” said Lourenco.
The Kempton Express can confirm that the suburb name board has been changed back to Edleen.
