When The Thembisan arrived at the house, the situation was tense.

Community members had gathered outside the property to help restore peace.

Just days before the most recent altercation, the dispute resulted in the arrest of one person.

According to family members, Nthabiseng has accused a family member of hitting her, something disputed by the rest of her family.

Following this, family members wanted Nthabiseng removed from the property, stating she had another house in Ebony Park.

When speaking to the Thembisan about the accusations, Nthabiseng said the person she had accused of hitting her had made her feel uncomfortable during her stay at the property.

“When I moved to the house in 2021, I was welcomed by insults which did not sit well with me.

“I tried to be peaceful with him, but he never wanted to understand.

“On the day I called the police, he came to the house fighting and banging windows, and I thought he was threatening my life. Insults followed this,” said Nthabiseng.

“Now, the family wants me gone because they believe I am lying and trying to tarnish the man’s name.

“I opened the case because of intimidation, insults and threats in fear of my life. Now they say I must release him from prison or leave the family house.”

Homeowner, Gogo Alzine, who is also the elder and mother of the family, said her child did not live up to her word as promised.

“She (Nthabiseng) asked for permission to stay here, and I asked her if she could live with the people who reside here peacefully.

“She agreed, but now she is dividing the family.

“Nthabiseng used to threaten us about leaving and finding a place to rent and now she must act on it,” said Gogo Alzine.
