LGBTQI+ community celebrates Ekurhuleni Pride

Ekurhuleni Pride celebrates 17 years of existence at the Emoyeni grounds.

Tshidiso Tsheola, the chairperson of the Thato One Big Family, said the event aimed to unite queer residents.

“This marks 17 years of queer pride, and we are here to stand out and celebrate the hard work put in to ensure the LGBTQI+ community has a voice and stands out in any given situation.”

Ekurhuleni Pride celebrates 17 years of existence at the Emoyeni grounds.

MjitaKazi Willy, an administrator for the Ekurhuleni Pride Organising Committee, said the event was for all queer residents of Thembisa.

“The event united us in Thembisa to celebrate our pride with everyone. The fight for our rights goes on, but we have to celebrate the success we have had as a team.”
