Grace Foundation hosts a fundraiser

The foundation’s project manager, Katlego Makutu, said their mission was to identify needs within the community and find means to meet those needs.

The Grace Foundation invites residents to support its fitness half-day fundraising event on September 21.
The event will be held at Dries Niemandt Park from 08:00 to 12:00.

Residents can expect functional fitness, aerobics, competitions, and more for only R70 per person. All proceeds will be going towards purchasing pads for the Becoming Pad Drive 2024.

The Grace Foundation is an NPO founded in 2022.

The foundation’s project manager, Katlego Makutu, said their mission was to identify needs within the community and find means to meet those needs.

The Grace Foundation team donated 200 sanitary pads at Norkem Park High School in 2022.

“Our projects include but are not limited to assisting children’s homes with day-to-day essentials, providing school shoes and stationery as part of our back-to-school project,” Makutu.

“We also donate sanitary pads to identified, vulnerable girls within local public high schools. Each year, we donate sanitary pads through our Becoming Pad Drive project.”

Makutu said the project began in 2022 when they donated 400 packs to 100 girls from Jiyana Secondary School.
She said last year they donated 800 packs to 200 girls within four high schools in their community.

“For this year, our goal is to donate 2 312 packs to 578 vulnerable girls from Phomolong Secondary School,” said Makutu.

“The community and businesses can support our project by donating sanitary pads.

“We recommend purchasing the Shoprite Caress R5 pads, or the SPAR Petals Classic R6 pads as these are cheaper and one can get more for less,” she added.
