The LGBTIQ+ community organisation Full Circle Entertainment (FCE) has been nominated in the Behind the Scenes Awards in the rainbow revolution category.
Dudu Yende, the founder of FCE, said the nomination was a testament to the organisation’s dedication to advancing the LGBTIQ+ movement and creating lasting change within the community.
“It is a tremendous honour for the organisation to receive the recognition.

“The nomination represents our hard work, dedication and impact in creating spaces where the LGBTIQ+ community can thrive,” said Yende.
“The recognition also reaffirms that our efforts are making a difference, not only in Kempton Park and Thembisa but beyond.
“It is a validation of our commitment to amplifying the voices of the LGBTIQ+ community and creating events where everyone feels seen, heard and valued,” she added.
“This nomination motivates us to continue pushing boundaries and further our mission of promoting love, unity and acceptance,” said Yende.

According to her, the organisation has been at the forefront of creating safe, inclusive and vibrant spaces for the LGBTIQ+ community and supporters in Kempton Park, Thembisa and surrounds.
Yende established the organisation in 2022 and has quickly become well-known for hosting ground-breaking events celebrating diversity, unity and love.
Yended said the desire to create a safe and inclusive space for the LGBTIQ+ community in Kempton Park and Thembisa, where people could celebrate who they are without fear of judgement, birthed FCE.
“I noticed a gap in our local scene, where events did not fully cater to this community’s unique needs. It inspired me to take action and launch FCE in 2022,” she said.
“We aim to bring people from all walks of life together, providing a platform for expression, celebration and connection. We want everyone, regardless of their identity, to feel seen, heard and embraced,” added Yende.

She said they strive to foster a sense of belonging and empower individuals to be their true selves through their events.
FCE has successfully hosted many events at popular venues like HangAwt, Headquarters, Meat and Greet, and White House, drawing in crowds that embrace the spirit of togetherness.
Yende said each event was meticulously planned to ensure a memorable experience, blending entertainment with a powerful message of acceptance and love.
“We aim to leave a lasting impact by consistently championing the values of acceptance, unity and diversity through our events.
“While we focus primarily on entertainment, we also use our platform to support and uplift the LGBTIQ+ community,” said Yende.
“Our partnerships with organisations like Thato One Big Family and Keep Them Smiling reflect our commitment to making a positive difference and addressing issues that affect the community.”
Yende said one of FCE’s most anticipated events is the Show Your Colour Celebration on September 28 at Headquarters in Thembisa.
“This event promises to be a vibrant showcase of the LGBTIQ+ community’s spirit, featuring music, performances and an atmosphere of celebration,” said Yende.

“The event is expected to attract a diverse audience, uniting people from all walks of life under the banner of pride and inclusivity.”
Yende added that the organisation has grown and remains steadfast in its commitment to creating spaces where individuals can feel seen, heard and celebrated.
She said FCE was not just about organising events. It is also about leading a revolution of love, unity, and acceptance in Thembisa and beyond.
“We ensure everyone feels comfortable and accepted, regardless of background or identity. Each event is thoughtfully planned to blend entertainment with a strong message of acceptance, love and unity.
“We also feature diverse talent, from queer DJs to performers, to ensure our community’s creativity is at the forefront,” said Yende.
Yende said they have received overwhelmingly positive feedback.
“Many people have shared how our events helped them feel more confident in their identity and proud of who they are. Attendees often mention how much they appreciate the inclusive atmosphere, the diversity of talent we showcase and the sense of safety they experience at our gatherings,” said Yende.
“It has been rewarding seeing the joy, pride and empowerment FCE has brought to the community.”

Looking ahead, FCE is excited to expand its reach with new initiatives and events.
Yende said one of their key upcoming projects is the Colourful Connections outdoor event series. The monthly event will offer a larger platform for celebrating diversity and fostering connections in and beyond the LGBTIQ+ community.
“We are also exploring more collaboration opportunities with other organisations and expanding our presence in new locations.
“We are keen to partner with big brands, within and outside the LGBTIQ+ community, to host future events and amplify our impact.
“Collaborating with prominent brands can help us reach a wider audience and enhance the scale and effectiveness of our initiatives.
“FCE is dedicated to creating inclusive spaces where everyone is welcome, not just the LGBTIQ+ community.”
