SAPS aims to bring law and order to the streets of Kempton Park

The operation began with a parade at the Langenhoven Shoprite, where Lesomo encouraged officers to look after themselves physically, mentally and emotionally.

The Kempton Park SAPS support commander, Colonel Motsatsi Lesomo, led a team of female commanders in Operation Basadi, which aimed to combat crime in Kempton Park on August 28.

Officers from various departments, security personnel and CPF members joined her.

The operation began with a parade at the Langenhoven Shoprite, where Lesomo encouraged the members to look after themselves physically, mentally and emotionally.

She told officers to empower themselves and always be operationally ready.

They divided the operation into two phases – the first was a roadblock at the intersection of Voortrekker and Greyilla roads.

“Officers searched 381 vehicles and 520 people. The roadblock yielded positive results, including confiscating a toy gun,” said the Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego.

The operation’s second phase saw patrols in the CBD, targeting problematic crimes like theft, theft out of motor vehicles and common robbery.
