Kempton Park police adopts Kreft Primary School

The purpose for the adoption was to bridge the gap between the teachers, learners and the police and to maintain the school's code of conduct.

Kempton Park SAPS, Vispol commander Colonel Obed Mashalane was recently selected as the new adopt-a-cop for Kreft Primary School.

Mashalane was joined by the social crime prevention co-ordinator Sergeant Mpho Sigida, firearm officers Warrant Officer Metsa Monare, Sergeant Kgabo Naila and second-hand goods officer Sergeant Phetole Mashatola.

According to Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego, the purpose of the adoption was to bridge the gap between the teachers, learners and the police and to maintain the school’s code of conduct by working hand-in-hand with the police.

Kreft Primary School has faced several challenges such as bullying and Mashalane outlined the role of the police, which is to maintain order and that learners feel safe at all times.

The principal appreciated the effort made and he said things will be much better now. He further asked for school talks to motivate the learners and to safeguard them.
