EMPD operation secures arrests of illegal immigrants

The operation which was lead by women, was also part of the Women’s Month commemorations.

An operation led by female EMPD officers in Kempton Park saw five illegal immigrants arrested and four vehicles impounded on August 22.

According to the COE spokesperson, Zweli Dlamini, 58 female officers and stakeholders combed the Kempton Park CBD, focusing on informal traders’ permits, expired dates on food and other products in the market, illegal trading on sidewalks and adherence to the by-laws in general.

Some vehicles were impounded during an EMPD operation led by female officers in Kempton Park.

Dlamini said other successes recorded in the operation included four impounded vehicles for illegal repairs on the side of the road and the confiscation of perishable goods from informal traders operating illegally on the side of the road.

The operation was part of the Women’s Month commemorations.
