Lima League’s netball coordinator, Luleka Dangisa, also wanted the girls to have fun and enjoy their day doing what they love, which is playing sports.

“The girls enjoyed themselves; they showed they wanted to be part of this day. All the teams’ performances develop each time they play because they learn from each other.

“They learn new tactics, new strategies and new behaviours. The way they do things gives great performances in every tournament and they gain a lot from the league games,” said Dangisa.

Black Birds dominated the first half, not allowing Liliba Young Stars to net any goal.

Liliba had a weak defence, which gave Black Birds an opportunity to quite a few goals.

This did not deter the Liliba team, and they kept pushing to get the ball.

Liliba Young Star coach, Jackie Baloyi, said her team’s performance saddened her.

“My team was not playing well. It seems as though we did not practice, but the truth is we did. I hope the team will do better next time. Although we lost, I am happy and love them,” said Baloyi.

Black Birds coach Mabel Ngoepe said she was excited about her team because of an amazing score they produced.

“I am so proud of my girls, Our defence was not that good. I wished they could have strengthened the defence. Although their usual performance is greater than this, I am happy with how things turned out,” said Ngoepe.
