Tembisa Commerce and Entrepreneurship School honour Mandela’s legacy
“My journey started in these very classrooms, where I learned the importance of education, hard work, and dreaming big.”
Neo Mojapelo, a former student of the Tembisa Commerce and Entrepreneurship School of Specialisation with a focus on hospitality and tourism (Tembisa SOS), joined the staff of the Palace of Dreams when they visited her old school for Mandela Day.
Neo is studying hospitality management at the Swiss Hotel School, thanks to a scholarship from the Peermont Community Benefit Trust (PCBT), which is a CSI initiative of Emperors Palace.

Mojapelo addressed 76 Grade 10 learners of the school before they received chef outfits from Emperors Palace’s #WinningTeam members as part of the East Rand Resort and Casino’s Mandela Day initiatives at the school.
During her address, Mojapelo said she was honoured to be at the school on Mandela Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the legacy of Nelson Mandela through acts of kindness and community service.

“Nelson Mandela once said that education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. I believe this wholeheartedly.
“Education has opened doors for me, and it can do the same for you. No dream is too big if you are willing to work for it.

“To the learners here today, I want to encourage you to stay focused on your studies, be curious, and never stop learning. Remember, every small step you take towards your dreams brings you closer to achieving them. Believe in yourself and your abilities.”
She also thanked the Peermont family for their support.
