Sector 6 CPF hosts market day fundraiser at Bonaero Park

The vendors at the market included people who were selling cookies and people who were selling coffee.

Sector 6 CPF hosted its Christmas in July market fundraiser event at Evangelical Lutheran Congregation in Bonaero Park on July 27.

The CPF hosted the event to raise funds for equipment.

“We try to host the event about two to three times a year depending on how much funds we need.

SANBS conducted a blood drive at the market.

“We host one in Easter, another one in the middle of the year, and then we wrap it up with a big Christmas market,” said CPF committee member Lizette Blight.

The vendors at the market included people who were selling cookies and people who were selling coffee.

Various security companies were there and also SANBS was present doing a blood drive.

Tiaan Marais, Jordan Lang, Adan Windsor, Ariel Windsor and Isabella Monica Shrosbree were selling coffee at the market.

Blight added that the turnout at the market was a bit smaller than their December market but they’re grateful for all the people who came to support.

CPF chairperson Vonita Viljoen described the relationship they have with the community and the police.

“We work hand in hand with the police, EMPD and all the security companies around the area.

“Lizette Blight and myself liaise with regards to any communication between the police and the community,” she said.

Sec Pro was also at the market.

Blight stated that there has been a spike in crime in their area and that is why they invited security companies to the market.Viljoen thanked the community members who came to the market.

“We host these markets so that we can give back to them and show them that we care about the safety of our area,” she said.
