Paul Randall, the club treasurer, said the event aims to reintroduce the hobby to the community while raising money for club upgrades.

The club comprises 120 members and is SA’s largest RC model flying club.

Randall said the club usually hosts an airshow once a year.

“The club’s facilities, including braais and toilets, are available to the public on weekends for those wishing to get out into the fresh air and relax while enjoying the range of model planes that fly at this club.”

Barnstormers regularly host events like large-scale aerobatics, national events and pylon racing.

Residents can expect a large static aircraft display and radio-controlled models flying throughout the day at this year’s airshow.

Food and beverages will be on sale.

“This year’s airshow will be a fantastic outdoor event for the entire family. We encourage residents to bring chairs,” said Randall.
