Three suspects arrested for business robbery in Pomona

Three business robbery suspects were arrested in Pomona on July 20.

Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego said sector police officers, Sergeant Makarinke and Sergeant Vukela were on patrol in Pomona when they noticed seven men acting suspiciously.

“When officers approached the men they attempted to flee. The officers managed to stop three of the men,” said Ditshego.

She added that when the men were searched, officers found three cellphones as well as two unlicensed firearms and 27 rounds of ammunition.

“The items recovered were found to have been taken during business robberies, which occurred along Sim Road.

“During these businesses robberies, one victim’s white Hyundai H1 was also taken. The vehicle was recovered on 9th Road, Bredell,” said Ditshego.

The three suspects were detained on charges of business robbery and for being in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
