EMPD recovers a hijacked car in Thembisa

Officers from the EMPD’s Bronberg Specialised Task Team recovered a hijacked silver Renault Kiger in Thembisa on July 9.
Spokesperson for the EMPD Marie Mashishi said information received by the task team enabled them to recover the vehicle.

“During the team’s crime prevention operation, officers received the information from a reliable source about a silver hatchback hijacked from its owners in Palmridge.
“Officers found the vehicle abandoned near a well-known car wash in the Thembisa area. All the relevant stakeholders, including SAPS, were called to the scene.
“The officers booked in the recovered Renault, which was taken to the Aeroton police yard for safekeeping.”
No arrests have been made. A case has been registered, and investigations are underway.
