Senior citizens of Kempton Park and Thembisa treated

The event was hosted to show appreciation to senior citizens for all the wisdom, love and care they have shown towards the youth over the years.

Staff from McDonald’s Kempton Park make time in their schedules to celebrate and appreciate the elders around Kempton Park and Thembisa.

Othandweni Fitness Club from Thembisa and The Golden Classics from Norkem Park were invited to McDonald’s Kempton Park for a special treat on June 28.

Senior citizens enjoyed a free breakfast.

The event was hosted to show appreciation to the elders for all the wisdom, love and care they have shown towards the youth over the years.

McDonald’s Kempton Park drive-thru restaurant manager, Pamela Ngojoba, said that McDonald’s values family and inviting senior citizens was a token of appreciation.

Othandweni Fitness Club and The Golden Classics were served breakfast on their arrival.

After breakfast, the senior citizens joined Othandweni Fitness Club, led by senior coach Thoko Mashiane and deputy coach Gapsile Ndlovu, outside for some exercise.

Mashiane said that exercise was important for older people.

“As we age, we get attacked by different diseases easily, and exercising helps us to stay healthy.”

Golden Classics coordinator Sibolelo Tlhako said she was thankful for the initiative.

“We appreciate everything that McDonald’s has done for us. It was an exciting outing for us.”
