Visit Melville Koppies and enjoy poetry sessions

Safe parking is provided opposite the entrance to Melville Koppies at Marks Park Sports Club in Judith Road, Emmarentia.

On the second Sunday of every month, Melville Koppies offers visitors time to reflect with its Poetic License Sundays.

Hosted by established poet and journalist, Rabbie Wrote Seremula, the session starts at 10:00 and ends when the Koppies closes at 11.30.

The theme is always healing, nature and love, often with other topics overlaid.

“It is participative and Rabbie encourages his audience to share and reflect,” said Melville Koppies volunteer Jenny Grice.

“In May, mothers infused the topic and attendees shared memories of lessons from their mothers: love with joy, love nature, life is not fair, and never give up.”

Serumula wrapped up the morning by reading poems of his own and others on the topic.

The next session will take place on June 9, with a theme of youth and fathers.

Residents are invited to join the session to share and reflect.

The Koppies are open from 08:00.
