Kempton resident makes his debut on Big Brother Mzansi

“Ghost is super smart, which is probably why he gives the housemates grief with his smart mouth. In the end, he means well."

Kempton Park resident, Sabelo Ncube, made his debut on Big Brother Mzansi on January 21.

Ncube, also known as Papa Ghost, was among the 22 chosen contestants and will compete for the R2m prize money.

Kempton Express spoke to his sister Sisi Shirilele about his journey.

“We are super excited to see our big brother on Big Brother Mzansi.

“It feels weird to have zero contact with him for three months, but seeing him on the screen makes up for it,” said Shirilele.

Sabelo Ncube, also known as Papa Ghost.

“Ten days before the show started, he disappeared when producers came to fetch him. We had not spoken to him since then.”

Shirilele said the show would air for 90 days and it was a relief seeing him on the screen.

“We missed him so much.”

Shirelele said she and the rest of her family had no idea how Papa Ghost planned to spend the money if he won.

“We just hope he uses the money or platform wisely and that it helps accelerating his dreams of moving forward.”
Papa Ghost is described as a loving and caring person.

“Ghost is super smart, which is probably why he gives the housemates grief with his smart mouth. In the end, he means well.

“He is a born leader and very passionate.”

Shirelele said Papa Ghost has a family background in entertainment, so it is in his blood.

Sabelo Ncube, also known as Papa Ghost, was amongst the 22 contestants that were chosen and will compete for the R2m prize money.

“Ghost has been on TV before, especially for commercials for brands like Sprite, Debonairs and others.

“It is always a blessing seeing him and his family on television,” added Shirilele.

One of Papa Ghost’s friends, Jabula Ngobese, said his friendship group was proud of Papa Ghost.

“We will do anything and everything to support him to win the competition.

“Although some may villainise him, he shows people that he is a stand-up guy with unwavering principles and morals.

“We miss him so much, but hope he stays the entire duration,” said Ngobese.
