Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run in Thembisa

A case of culpable homicide, reckless and negligent driving and failing to stop after an accident has been registered at the Tembisa SAPS.

A man died following a pedestrian-vehicle crash in Thembisa on November 21.

The EMPD Thembisa precinct officers responded to a scene at about 20:00, where an accident was reported to have transpired along Brian Mazibuko Drive, in Emangweni.

“A man was found lying in the roadway, facing upward, alleged to have been hit by a Toyota Quantum affiliated with a local taxi association,” said EMPD spokesperson Kelebogile Thepa.

A man was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Thembisa.

It is alleged that the driver fled the scene of the accident.

According to Thepa, the owner of the Quantum was summoned to the scene to assist with preliminary investigations.

“A case of culpable homicide, reckless and negligent driving and failing to stop after an accident is registered at the Tembisa SAPS,” said Thepa.
