New property development on the horizon in Kempton Park

Nehawu Investment Holdings is set to bring a new housing development in Kempton Park.

Kempton Park is constantly changing with new developments that are designed to make the area more sophisticated and appealing to young people who are branching out on their own.

Nehawu Investment Holdings is the investment arm of the trade union Nehawu, which partnered up with Pormat Properties and Muma Architects, Construction and Property Developers, both under Be More Group of Companies.

Together the organisations have set out on a new property development in Glen Marais called Glen City that will see 126 units built.

The housing complex will include bachelor and family units, with amenities typical of complexes and a clubhouse.
The Kempton Express caught up with property specialist for Nehawu Investment Holdings, Bheki Zulu.

“The plan was to have a development where workers can work and also have a place to stay and also turn Kempton Park into a precinct of trade unionism,” he said.

He added that they have worked with the companies before on other projects so they thought it was a good idea to bring them on board because they are familiar with their needs and they are sensitive to their requirements.

Head of sales at Pormat Property Group, Tabakenna Mashilwane, said Nehawu Investment Holdings acquired the land with a long-term plan of developing it and creating an affordable housing space in this region of Kempton Park.

Mashilwane added that the first phase will take about eight to 10 months to complete and phase two will then commence after.

“This land is perfect for a complex because it is centrally located. It is close to a shopping centre, schools, the R21 freeway and the airport.”
