Little Eden to host annual Christmas concert

Little Eden Society has invited members of the community to travel with their residents on a magic carpet ride through 100 years of fantasy at their annual Christmas concerts.

The enchanting event will take place at Elvira Rota Village in Bapsfontein on Friday, November 24, and Saturday, November 25, from 10:00 and entrance to the concert is free of charge.

According to Little Eden’s public relations and communications coordinator Gaahele Mokgoro, the Christmas concert is one of the year’s most anticipated highlights at Little Eden as the residents prepare for months, showcasing the new skills they have learned and developed throughout the year.

She said that friends and benefactors of the society travel from near and far to be part of these special performances, and the residents eagerly anticipate the applause and encouragement from the audience.

This year, the concert theme is “100 Years of Disney,” featuring beloved characters from Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, High School Musical, The Lion King, and The Jungle Book, and culminating with a classic nativity scene to embrace the true spirit of Christmas.

The Christmas concert practices also serve as an integral part of the stimulation therapy programme, particularly the singing and dancing segments, which the residents cherish and enjoy.

“By attending this event, visitors not only celebrate the festive season but also contribute to the well-being and development of the residents.”

“After the concert, visitors are invited to explore the Christmas market where a variety of interesting items will be available for purchase, including refreshments.

“It’s an excellent opportunity to meet the residents, and guided tours of the facility will be offered to provide insight into the work done by Little Eden Society,” said Mokgoro.
