Help SAPS return box of ashes to owner
"The name identifying the deceased was ripped off the box."
Sebenza SAPS appealed to members of the community who may have lost a box of ashes to visit the police station.
According to Sebenza Police Station’s communication officer Sergeant Sharon Tsotsotso, the wooden box containing the ashes was found in September 2021.
She said it was found in an open veld in the Cresslawn area.

Tsotsotso said officers opened it and discovered the ashes.
“It is suspected that the ashes were taken by suspects during a burglary or robbery who then discarded the container,” said Tsotsotso.
The name to identify the deceased was taken off the box.
