Local family needs help with decent burial of their loved one

The community remains determined to secure the necessary resources to give him a dignified farewell.

The community is appealing for assistance in providing a dignified funeral for Castino Mandladzi, a 44-year-old Mozambican man who died in his rented shack.

It is believed he died on October 23.

His body was discovered on October 26.

Mandladzi was known to be unwell for a considerable amount of time, but his cause of death is still unknown.

Faruka Masinga, the landlord, stated Mandladzi had been ill for some time but had concealed it by donning a mask and not disclosing the nature of his illness.

“When an acquaintance visited him to check on his health on October 26, I informed him that he was sleeping inside the house without knowing of the tragic incident.

“When the friend went to see him, he found Castino dead.

“We notified the authorities right away. Although we didn’t receive assistance from them.

“Nkosi Flame Funeral Parlour came forward to offer storage of Castino’s body,” said Masinga.

With no other family members present, the responsibility of organising a proper funeral has fallen on Justice Mandladzi, Castino’s brother and the community.

Justice and Masinga are appealing for any form of assistance.

They need financial contributions, funeral arrangements, and donations of any kind to ensure Castino receives a respectful farewell.

Adding to the complexity of the situation, the deceased had no official identification documents.

This further complicates arranging a proper funeral and highlights the need for community support in navigating bureaucratic hurdles.

However, the community remains determined to secure the necessary resources to give him a dignified farewell.
