Taal-Net celebrates arts festival
Taal-Net Group of Schools held an arts festival to celebrate different cultures and art forms.
Taal-Net Group held an arts festival at Taal-Net Beula Park situated at the Mount Zion Prayer Mountain Events Hall in Germiston.
The event featured various art categories such as poetry, traditional dance, and township dance.
Taal-Net included new categories this year like ballet, journalism and a fashion parade showcasing clothes that were designed and sewn by Taal-Net learners.

The event was streamed live on the Taal-Net Group of School Facebook page as well as the Taal-Net TV profile.
Parents of some of the learners were watching on these platforms from South Africa and Zimbabwe.
Director of Independent Schools Mosibudi Makhubela spoke on the importance of learners always trying their best and believing that effort will yield results – highlighting excerpts from ‘Something Inside So Strong’ song by Kenny Rogers.
Taal-Net describes the Arts Festival as a day of cultural acknowledgement and celebration.
Learners are encouraged to showcase their talent and their culture. It was also the day when the group of schools celebrated their anniversary. The schools are now in existence for 14 years.
Taal-Net Founder and CEO, Justin Tapiwa Magidi, spoke on the school’s vision to achieve 100% pass rate for all matric and IGCSE classes and also groom learners to compete on the international stage.

Many prizes and certificates were awarded to learners who topped the category with a special category created for the group of schools’ most resilient coach under the ‘Coach of the Year’ category which was won by Keith Dube, Taal-Net International teacher and coach.
The day’s results per branch saw Taal-Net Kempton Park coming in third, Taal-Net Randburg taking second place and Taal-Net International (Turffontein) as the reigning champions.
