Ekurhuleni technicians work to get water flowing

Water tankers have been dispatched to temporarily supply water to the affected areas.

City of Ekurhuleni technicians are working around the clock to restore water supply to Edenvale and Kempton Park.

An announcement of the supply interruption was made by the city this afternoon.

According to CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini water supply was interrupted by a bulk water meter leak.

“The estimated restoration time is 20:00 this evening,” said Dlamini on November 3.

Affected areas in Edenvale include:

  • High-lying areas of Edenvale.
  • Elma Park.
  • Dunvegan.

Dlamini said in Kempton Park the cause of the water supply interruption is not yet established.

“Technicians are on-site to restore the supply,” said Dlamini.

He said the estimated restoration time will be communicated through the city’s digital platforms and social media platforms once it has been established.

Affected areas in Kempton Park include:

  • Glen Marais.
  • Terenure.
  • Chloorkop.
  • Birch Acres.
  • Birchleigh.
  • Norkem Park.

Water tankers have been dispatched to temporarily supply water to the affected areas.

The city apologised for any inconvenience caused.
