Ngodwana emphasised the importance of educating residents about the dangers of illegal dumping and its severe impact on the environment.

Recognising the detrimental effects of such practices, the mayor called on community leaders to collaborate in raising awareness about responsible waste disposal.

Turning to the issue of sewer blockages, Ekurhuleni’s first citizen indicated that this must be attributed to the disposal of foreign objects into the sewage system.

In light of this, Ngodwana urged ward councillors to emphasise to communities the importance of caring for the infrastructure and refraining from throwing foreign objects into the sewage systems.

In addition, the mayor and team made a stop at the new Phomolong substation, which is currently under construction to ensure a reliable supply of electricity to the residents.

This vital infrastructure project not only aims to enhance the quality of life for the community but also supports local businesses to enhance township economic growth and development.
