Taal-Net learners do their bit for Mandela Day

The learners played games with the children and asked them questions based on general knowledge to test their wit.

Mandela Day is celebrated every year on July 18 to commemorate the life of Nelson Mandela.

People use this time to spend 67 minutes of their day doing good deeds for the less fortunate in their respective communities.

Learners from Taal-Net Group of Schools in Kempton Park celebrated the day and rolled up their sleeves to get their hands dirty.

The learners, accompanied by the school’s marketing advisor, Nomsa Radebe, spent their 67 minutes for Mandela Day at Kempton Park Child Welfare and All Star Centre.

The learners played games with the children and asked them questions based on general knowledge to test their wit.

The learners also did garden work for the facility.

“Celebrating Mandela Day makes me feel like I’m changing the world even though I’m just helping out in my community. I feel like I might inspire someone to do greater things,” said Taal-Net head boy, Rawley Chirume.
