The 21-year-old was arrested on September 29 at the OR Tambo International Airport.

Tshabalala was the 11th female drug mule to be nabbed at the ORTIA in the last two months.

According to the SAPS national spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, she was profiled and intercepted when her flight landed on South African soil from Sao Paulo, Brazil.

“The police took her to a local hospital where an X-ray confirmed she had several foreign objects in her stomach,” said Mathe.

After a medical examination, she released more than 60 drug bullets.
