Between September 13 and 19, Rapid Response Services comprising Flying Squad, K9 Units and Highway Patrol members throughout Gauteng arrested 81 suspects and recovered 43 motor vehicles and four firearms.
Officers participated in various concentrated operations, vehicle checkpoints, secure escorts and intensive patrols around Gauteng.

These operations led to 38 arrests for serious crimes including assault common and GBH, shoplifting, armed robbery, common robbery, attempted murder, theft, possession of counterfeit goods, domestic violence and culpable homicide.
A total of 43 hijacked and stolen motor vehicles were recovered with eight arrests for the possession of these vehicles.
Six unlicensed firearms were recovered accompanying one arrest.
In further policing, 34 arrests were made for the possession of and dealing in drugs.

Heroine, dagga, cat (cocaine), Mandrax and crystal methamphetamine were among those confiscated in these separate incidents.
Investigation continues into all cases.
The suspects will be appearing in the local magistrate’s courts across Gauteng.
