Plea deal on the cards for murder accused Denise Hattingh

Hattingh is accused of killing 29-year-old Markus Greeff on May 15 in Pomona. She was arrested the following day in Brentwood Park.

The murder case against former Kempton Park hairdresser Denise Hattingh was postponed to October 3.

Hattingh is accused of killing 29-year-old Markus Greeff on May 15 at a property on West Street in Pomona.

When Hattingh appeared in the Kempton Park Regional Court this morning, September 25, the State and Hattingh’s defense asked for a postponement to next week to engage in a possible plea deal.

Hattingh was arrested on May 16 after police issued a lookout for her in connection with Greeff’s murder the previous night.

According to Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson Sargent Dipuo Ditshego on May 15, police responded to the scene of a murder at a property on West Road.

“When police arrived at the property they found Greeff’s body,” said Ditshego.

She added that it was believed Greeff was strangled with a cable.

Ditshego confirmed that Sec Pros security personnel were on patrol around Brentwood Park when they saw a woman matching the description given for Hattingh.

Hattingh was arrested on May 16.

“She was apprehended and Detective Captain Richard Moloi who attended the scene of the murder drove to Brentwood Park.”

“The woman was taken to the Kempton Park Police Station where she was charged with murder.”
