Murder case under investigation after man is shot in Witfontein

olice are investigating a case of murder after Simnikiwe Mapini was shot and killed in Germiston.

An unknown man died after he was shot at the intersection of the R25 and Ninth Road in Witfontein on July 7.

Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego, spokesperson for the Kempton Park SAPS, said officers were called to the scene and, on arrival, found the man sustained severe gunshot wounds to his upper body.

She added the investigation into the man’s murder was still ongoing.

Brigadier Lindani Ndlovu, Kempton Park SAPS station commander, condemned the act.

He appealed to anyone with information to contact the SAPS immediately.

“The police will not rest until those responsible are brought to book to face the full might of the law,” said Ndlovu.
