EMPD confirm crashed truck was HIJACKED early this morning
The truck was hijacked on the R21 north at the Voortrekker Road off ramp and shortly afterward the crash occurred.

Crime scene investigations are still underway following this morning’s truck crash on the R21 in Kempton Park.
EMPD spokesperson Thabiso Makgato, confirmed that the truck, transporting a load of beverages, was hijacked on the R21 north at the Voortrekker Road off ramp.
Shortly afterward the truck was crashed resulting in it being jackknifed, blocking the road.

The exact details of the crash remain unavailable.
Motorists are advised to make use of the Atlas Road off-ramp to access the Kempton Park CBD.
Once on scene criminal investigations are completed, clean up operations will commence.
No timeframe has been given for the reopening of the off-ramp road.
