Fugitive murder suspect re-arrested by Ivory Park Police

A murder suspect who vanished after being granted bail was re-arrested by Ivory Park SAPS investigators on May 15.

According to the Ivory Park SAPS spokesperson, Captain Ben Matimulane, the suspect Sello Peter Senyatsi was detained at the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court where he requested bail about an alleged robbery and murder that occurred in 2019.

The suspect was on the run after he was granted bail in 2019.

“He was one of four suspects who, in Ext 2, Ivory Park, shot and killed a man in 2019.

“The Ivory Park SAPS Serious Violence Group was able to identify the alleged perpetrators through a network of people who wanted to see justice prevail.

“It remains unclear what the murder’s purpose was.

“Senyatsi is due to appear in court shortly. The SAPS insists that he should not be freed. They believe that he should remain in custody without bail,” said Matimulane.

Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, the station commander of Ivory Park SAPS, has welcomed this successful tracing.

“This man and his alleged three accomplices have to account for what happened on that fateful day in May 2019,” said Ngcobo.
