EMPD catch three suspects with drugs and a toy gun

The suspects were found in possession of mandrax and crystal meth.

Three suspects were arrested on charges of possession of drugs on Saturday morning.

This comes after EMPD’s North Task Team in conjunction with SSS Security received a tip-off about a white VW City Golf hatchback that was suspected of dealing drugs around Aston Manor.

The suspects were found in possession of drugs and a toy gun.

“The members attended to the matter swiftly and the vehicle was spotted at the corner of Monument Road and Concourse Crescent in the parking lot of a local shopping centre,” said Marie Mashishi, EMPD’s media liaison officer.

The three suspects were allegedly found inside a white VW Golf with a false registration. The vehicle was impounded and will be investigated.

“The vehicle, with three men in it, was tactically approached and searched.

“The members seized a packet of Mandrax and crystal meth, as well as a toy gun.

“The suspects, aged between 24 and 30, were arrested.

“The trio were detained at the Kempton Park Police Station, pending their appearances at the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of drugs.”

Mashishi also said the vehicle’s registration was allegedly false.

The vehicle was impounded and will be investigated.
