Case against Anton Bouwer postponed to March 5

Bouwer's defense stated they were not ready to continue with proceedings when he appeared in court today, February 16.

The case against murder accused Pomona businessman Anton Bouwer was again postponed when he appeared in the Kempton Park Regional Court this morning.

At his last appearance on February 2 the case against him was postponed to today when Bouwer was expected to make his formal bail application.

Today, however, his defense stated that their case was not ready and requested a postponement of the matter.

The Magistrate granted the request and the matter was postponed to March 5.

Additionally, an unknown man was banned from all future court appearances of Bouwer after he tried to make physical contact with the accused.

Bouwer was again remanded in custody.

Bouwer stands accused of killing his parents Bettie (73) and Robert (78) Bouwer on January 22 at their house in Bredell.

A banner placed outside the court on February 2.

He is also accused of killing his stepdaughter Natasha Bouwer (22) and domestic worker Elizabeth Mahlangu (56) at a house in Fairleads, Benoni, on the same day.

Bouwer will additionally face one charge of attempted murder for the shooting of his wife, Adelle.
