The public meetings allowing community members to participate in drafting the new Water Service By-laws have been postponed until further notice.

The Draft Water Services By-law gives effect to clause 11 Chapter 3 of the Water Services Act (Act 108 of 1997), which puts a duty on the city as a water service authority to progressively ensure efficient, affordable, economical, and sustainable access to water services to all consumers and/or potential consumers in its area of jurisdiction.
A public meeting for Kempton Park was scheduled for March 27 and a meeting for Thembisa was set for March 31.
