Over the weekend, officers from the Benoni Flying Squad arrested two suspects and recovered four motor vehicles.

According to a spokesperson for the unit, Warrant Officer Grand Giblin, officers arrested a suspect on Elizabeth Road in Boksburg North for being in possession of a white Opel Corsa Utility reported stolen in a Boksburg North case.
“One suspect was arrested in Etwatwa. He was in possession of a substance believed to be crystal meth.”
In further policing, three abandoned hijacked vehicles were recovered – a silver Toyota Avanza was found on Institute Street, Germiston and reported on a Devon case, a silver Hyundai Creta was found on Casas Street, Thembisa and reported on a Sebenza case, and a silver VW Polo on Mnguni Street, Ivory Park, and reported on a Norkem Park case.
Investigations into all cases continue.

The suspects, aged 32 and 35, will soon appear in a local Magistrate’s court.

They face charges of the possession of drugs and the possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
