Miss Mzansi International is a local modelling contest that aims to provide ambitious young models with the chance to break into the industry and show off their skills.

Mphahlele said she entered the competition to tell her narrative and demonstrate that she is more than ‘just a body’ and a beautiful person.

“My experience competing in Miss Mzansi has been fantastic, but it has also been a little challenging because I had to manage my schoolwork with the pageant activities.

“I’ve gained a lot of knowledge throughout my life, not only in pageantry.

“I’ve developed abilities like communication, leadership, teamwork, and time management that one could use to rule the world.

“I am confident that if I can carry these skills with me, I will succeed in anything I do.

“I firmly believe that the lessons I learned on my journey have illuminated my life’s mission.

The winner wishes to express her gratitude to everyone who helped her along the way and made sure she won.

“I want to express my gratitude to everyone who supported me and travelled with me on this adventure.

My family has always supported me financially, emotionally and most importantly physically by being there on the final day.

“I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of help I received from my community and I am really appreciative.

“I am grateful to the judges, Pertunia Malingisa, Tshepo Lubisi, Karabo Mofokeng, Tshiamiso Masilela, Kealegile Moloko and the Mzansi International management for recognising my qualifications to hold this title.

“They made the best decision, which they would never second-guess.

By winning the contest, the model hopes to inspire.

“My goal is to empower the young women of this country and I feel this title will open doors for me to accomplish it for the upcoming generations of girls who require role models to aspire to.

“This is more than just a title for me. It’s a key to unlock doors in this field.

“I feel incredibly fortunate to be the current queen and I am eager to gain more experience during my reign,” said Mphahlele.
