The lab and library were presented to the daycare on September 2.

According to Mfunekwa Sithole, marketing manager at Mall of Thembisa, the mall wanted to assist the centre by donating the library and computer lab after learning that it had more than 20 computers but no place to store and use them.

“We are dedicated to comprehending the community’s requirements and collaborating with them to jointly develop solutions.

“Since they had computers donated to them but were unable to use them owing to a lack of space, we as Mall of Thembisa set out to create a spot in which the children from the home can utilise free and in comfort.

“It is necessary to us because it is a method for us to give back to the community and it is also a way to improve the neighbourhoods close to the mall. As a community, we are all in this together, umuntu umuntu ngabantu.

“They constructed a space for the children that will allow them to learn and have a comfortable place. I truly needed individuals who could aid me and my kids in the orphanage.

“I am thankful that there are those who can recognise the struggles I face in the orphanage and feel compelled to lend a helping hand.

“When they get home from school, my kids can now use the space effectively and concentrate on their homework in a pleasant setting,” said Sekgobela.
