Pedal Power Association, one of South Africa’s largest cycling organisations announced that Cycle Lab will stock its popular luminescent range of PPA Stay Wider of the Rider jerseys.

PPA promotes the safety of cyclists on South African roads as well as the safety of bike mobility within communities.
“Visibility is key to staying safe whilst out cycling, and we wish to encourage all road cyclists to purchase one of our jerseys to stay visible and safe when out cycling,” said Neil Robinson, CEO of the PPA.
“Wearing bright neon clothing during the daytime is ideal but reflective gear or strips is a must before sunrise and after sunset.”
He said PPA’s jerseys combine both these needs.
The first Cycle Lab store to carry the range of safe cycling jerseys is located in Cornubia in Durban. The stock was made available from the first week of September.

PPA thanked Andrew McLean and the Cycle Lab team for their support of its safe cycling campaign since it was launched in 2014.
Andrew was instrumental in assisting with the launch of the PPA #CyclistsLivesMatter campaign at the Cradle of Humankind in March 2022.
This occurred after the death of André Piehl.
#CyclistsLivesMatter focuses on the lack of prosecution and PPA hopes that going forward, all cases will be dealt with fairly to ensure that justice is done.
PPA is engaging in talks with all local governments about the matter.
“Not everyone can afford attorneys, so we aim to assist wherever we can with such cases,” said Robinson.

Robinson said each purchase of a PPA Stay Wider of the Rider cycling jersey, helps the NPO extend its safe cycling campaign throughout South Africa.
