Residents enjoy a day in the Marlands Market

Residents had the opportunity to spend a day in the sun during the Marlands Spring Market on September 4.

Children enjoyed a fun-filled day playing on the jumping castle.

There was a variety of stalls providing residents with a choice of different products from sweets, food, art pieces and jewellery. The event was hosted by Pravin Mungal.

A similar event was hosted on August 27 at the Primrose Bowling Club.

“We do a lot of programmes for the elders. On October 1 we are hosting a cancer awareness event,” said Mungal.

“To bring the community together we are inviting all residents from wards 36 and 92 and CPF sectors 1, 2 and 3 in celebration of Heritage Day on September 24 as we are hosting a community braai day.

“We will celebrate the cultural wealth of our beautiful country.

“The last two years have been difficult for everyone and we want our residents, together with the community leaders, to enjoy a day of fun, relaxation and togetherness.”

Entrance will be free.

“Residents must take their gazebos, meat, drinks, braai stand, salads, picnic baskets and blankets and spend the day relaxing and getting to know each other.

“We have planned activities for the day, which is also free and includes jumping castles, karaoke, music and entertainment.”
