R5 rifle owner sought by BFS

No suspects were found on the scene where the R5 rifle was discovered by BFS members.

BFS discovered an R5 rifle with 31 rounds of live ammunition at a residence in Emfihlweni Section, Thembisa.

The Benoni Flying Squad are looking for the owner of an R5 rifle discovered in Thembisa on July 28.

According to BFS spokesperson Warrant Officer Grant Giblin, members followed up on information with crime intelligence which led them to Emfihlweni Section, Thembisa.

“Hidden in the yard, officers recovered the rifle with 31 live rounds of ammunition and five hand radios,” said Giblin.
