Kempton’s hustler beats odds

“I love meeting new people and seeing new places because it helps me see and learn more,” Thabang Selepe.

Born and bred in Kempton Park, Thabang Selepe found a way to gain an income after struggling with unemployment after his matric.

The young innovator started his fashion brand in 2019.

The brand is a merger between affordability, comfort and high-end fashion apparel.

“I love fashion and I wanted to contribute to the South African economy,” said Selepe.

Selepe said the brand is about uplifting the youth and inspiring young black youth from less privileged backgrounds to go after their dreams.

“I love meeting new people and seeing new places because it helps me see and learn more.”

He works with his two friends, Sebina Karabo Senwamadi and Amogelang Motiang, and together they have extended their business into a printing business, which also provides printing services for other businesses and brands.

“My goal is to have my own shop locally. My advice to the youth is to just chip away at it until you get where you need to be.”
