Baby’s body found in 10 litre bucket in Glen Austin

The body of a newborn baby was found in an open veld in Glen Austin on June 21.

Rabie Ridge SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Dipolelo Moremi said a woman found a black 10 litre bucket dumped on the side of the road. When she opened it she noticed the baby, face down.

“The woman told police officers that the child was not moving when she contacted the Rabie Ridge police.”

Moremi paramedics were summoned to the scene where they declared the baby dead.
