Founder Priscilla Malapela said the pageant is based in Tswelopele and is for females aged five to 25.

“It helps them to establish a basis for their modelling careers,” said Malapela.

“The pageant is influencing young girls interested in modelling to see themselves as more than just pretty faces, but as the intellectual, resourceful, and ambitious individuals, they have always been.

“It is aimed at helping them gain confidence and self-esteem.

“I started hosting this pageant in 2019 with my own savings and later obtained support from a beauty clinic in Sandton. This year Mall of Thembisa and Imbizo came on board as sponsors.

“I believe that as young girls in Thembisa, we are the most powerful beings in ekasi and that we should be given every opportunity to exhibit that in our community,” said Malapela.
