A young girl was allegedly abducted and raped by a taxi driver on April 1 in a Chloorkop open veld along Allandale Road.

According to the Rabie Ridge SAPS spokesperson, Sgt Dipolelo Moremi, the victim alleged that at around 20:00 she took a taxi from Kanana sports ground to Friendship Town.
“The driver asked for the complainant’s phone number, but she refused. It was only two of them inside the taxi.
The driver drove past her drop-off point. When she questioned this, he took out his weapon and drove to an open veld along Allandale Road,” said Moremi.
“He stripped her naked and raped her without using protection. After he asked for money, the victim called her sister, who agreed to give R3 000. The driver left her in the open and left to collect the money.
“The driver allegedly returned to get her, stopped and raped her inside the taxi once again before dropping her off in Rabie Ridge. The victim is unable to identify the perpetrator.
“The police urge anyone with knowledge to contact them. Your identity will be protected,” said Moremi.
