Rabie Ridge SAPS officers responded to reports of rape after which they arrested the father of the alleged victim.
Sgt Moremi and Sgt Moiloa obtained information from a member of the gender-based violence brigade about a 12-year-old schoolgirl who had been raped by her father on March 16.

According to Rabie Ridge SAPS communications officer, Sgt Dipolelo Moremi, the GBV brigade member received the information from a source.
“The police went to a school in the area where the alleged suspect worked. He was discovered in the principal’s office. The father was arrested. He appeared before a magistrate in Tembisa courts on the rape charge.
“The school and members of the GBV brigade who contacted the police about the situation are to be commended, according to the Rabie Ridge station commander,” said Moremi.
“The police have been outspoken in their condemnation of violence directed towards women and children.”
