Boy (15) allegedly stabbed to death at Birch Acres street party

"The party was attended by a lot of children. Most of them were underage and drinking alcohol."

Norkem Park SAPS is investigating a murder after a 15-year-old boy was found dead in Birch Acres.

According to Sgt Barbara-Anne Ferreira, spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, the boy was found at a street party held at Birch Acres Square on Saturday.

“Members were responding to a complaint about an alleged stabbing. On arrival, the boy from Vusimuzi informal settlement, was found in a sitting position against a wall,” said Ferreira.

“The victim had stab wounds to his body. He was declared dead by paramedics on scene.”

Ferreira said there are no suspects at this stage and investigations continue.

“The party was attended by a lot of children, about 500. Most of them were underage and drinking alcohol. As Norkem Park SAPS, we don’t condone these kinds of parties and behaviour, now the gathering resulted in a murder.”
